Dear Northside Elementary School Parents and Community, As principal of Northside Elementary, it is my pleasure to welcome you back to the 2023 - 2024 school year. We are all excited to have our students back in our classrooms to share our enthusiasm for learning and to watch our students take off. Our mission is to help every child feel welcomed and become a part of the Northside family. I am truly honored and excited to lead Northside as we continue to support and grow students academically, socially, and emotionally. At Northside Elementary, our staff is second to none. Our teachers spend hours planning and creating engaging lessons with activities that showcase all of our students' learning. We continue to utilize research-based best practices and analyze academic data to determine current skill levels for academic growth and improvement. This year we will continue our partnership with ArtsNow which provides staff professional development on integrating the art disciplines in literacy through the visual arts, music, dance, and drama. Our first day of school is Monday, August 7, 2023, and the NES staff is excited to welcome back our sharks! We would like to introduce you to our new staff members: Ms. Angela Reimel - Paraprofessional Mr. Aubrey Lemon - Physical Education teacher Ms. Debra Bowers - Paraprofessional Ms. Jessie Deal - 5th grade teacher Ms. Joelle Glapinski - Music teacher Ms. Lawaina Gethers - Paraprofessional In preparation for the new school year, please review the school supply list and updated student dress code found on our website. Clear bookbags will not be mandated this school year, and students are allowed to wear crocs. We will continue to offer free breakfast and lunch to all students through our district’s Office of Nutrition. Mark your calendars as Open House will be held Thursday, August 3, 2023, from 3:30 pm to 6:30 pm. Students will be able to meet their teachers and tour the school. Once again, welcome back!
