In art, students learn about the  elements of art and how to use them to express themselves. Art is a very important subject. It allows students to be independent decision makers, helps them develop skills at self-expression, and enhances critical thinking.

Please be aware that often students will be using messy art supplies.  On art day, you may want to send a large old shirt or apron to cover their clothing. You may consider buying a plastic pencil box and filling it with some personal art supplies for your child to supplement what we have.  These may include: crayons, color pencils, markers, blunt safety scissors, and a glue stick.   Regardless, students must bring a pencil and eraser to class each week.  We appreciate any donations you make to our program, such as magazines, newspapers, paper tubes, pencils, color pencils, erasers, crayons, markers, and paper.

Art will be fun and an exciting part in your child’s education!
